Safeer Haider's Story

Safeer Haider, an innocent 5-year-old boy from Daska, has been experiencing challenges since birth. Safeer was unable to listen and respond to sounds. Upon noticing his condition, his parents took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital sensorineural hearing loss and recommended cochlear implant surgery. With the support of Transparent Hands, Safeer’s surgery was performed in November 2024. Safeer can listen now but he is not familiar with sounds, voices, emotions, or words. To help him make sense of the sounds around him and develop speech, the doctor has recommended speech therapy. Unfortunately, his family can’t afford the treatment.

If Safeer does not receive speech therapy, he may struggle to communicate, leaving him isolated despite the successful cochlear implant surgery. Moreover, he may miss the critical period for speech development, making it difficult for him to interact with the people around him.

Safeer lives in a modest house with his parents and two other family members. His father, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a police employee. His modest monthly income hardly covers their utility bills, education, food as well as other living expenses. Safeer’s life-changing speech therapy sessions are costly and they simply can’t afford to pay for it. Safeer’s family is worried about his future. During this time of need, Safeer’s parents contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Safeer’s family expressed their heartfelt plea as follows:

“We waited so long for Safeer to hear our voices, and now we wish to communicate with him. We just want him to live a normal life and talk like other children. Please make it possible for him to receive speech therapy.”

Safeer’s family depends on your generosity. They don’t have enough money to afford the therapy. Only you can provide him with the opportunity to recognize sounds, grow, and thrive in life.

With your support, Safeer would be able to receive speech therapy sessions for one year. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference in his life. Let’s join hands to change Safeer’s life.
